Historical windows
Our specialty is carpentry designed for historic buildings, crafted to replicate original historic windows. We meticulously recreate every detail, and upon the Client’s request, we can also produce custom decorations based on provided photos or sketches. We manufacture historic windows in all the profiles we offer: IV68, IV78, and IV92. It is important to note that the profile designation corresponds to the wood depth – for example, 68 mm or 78 mm. Each project is treated individually, with full respect for the character and history of the building. We use high-quality wood species and modern processing technologies, which allow us to combine the durability and functionality of contemporary windows with the authentic appearance of traditional joinery. Thanks to our team’s experience and attention to detail, we can ensure not only faithful reproduction of the original forms but also excellent insulation performance and user comfort, in line with current building standards.

CONSTRUCTION AND COMPONENTS OF A HISTORIC WINDOW
The fixed part of the joinery to which the sashes and other elements are attached, serving both a structural and decorative function
The upper part of the window frame, often profiled or decorated, serving as an elegant finishing touch to the joinery
The movable part of the window that holds the glass. Made of wood, shaped and profiled to match the character of historic joinery
The vertical element connecting the window sashes, ensuring a tight seal and providing an aesthetically pleasing finish to their edges
The lower part of the sash, which in historic windows served both a structural and decorative function, harmoniously connecting with the window sill
The horizontal rail in the historic window construction, serving both a structural and decorative function, often profiled or decorated in the style of the period joinery
A thin element dividing the glass into smaller panes. It serves a decorative function and emphasizes the style of the period
It serves both a protective and decorative function — it protects the wood from moisture while providing an elegant finish to the bottom edge of the sash
OUR HISTORIC WINDOW PROJECTS
PROFILES AND DETAILS OF HISTORIC WINDOWS
Our historic windows combine traditional joinery with precise detailing. We offer a variety of profiles – standard, narrow, and retro-style – and every element, from the wood drip cap, meeting strip, and top rail to the wooden guides, has been carefully designed and tailored to the character of the historic building. This ensures that every window detail serves both a structural and aesthetic function, preserving the historic style while maintaining the durability of the joinery.
STANDARD OR NARROW PROFILES
We produce standard windows with frame and sash profiles 80 mm wide. Upon the Client’s request, narrow profiles are also available, with both frame and sash measuring 70 mm. This solution not only meets the approval of heritage conservators in Poland and abroad but also faithfully reproduces the profiles historically used in protected buildings.
RETRO PROFILES
To meet our Clients’ expectations, we have introduced the often-requested Retro profiles. These include additional decorations on the glazing bars and meeting strips, on the frames, and on the muntins, which add charm and, in a way, give the windows an intentionally aged appearance.
WOOD DRIP CAP
In the case of historic windows, it is often necessary to install a wood drip cap. We offer two options: mounting on the sash or on the window frame. The choice is left to the Client, following prior consultations with the heritage conservator.
MEETING STRIP
By default, the meeting strips feature elegant grooves along the sides or the full height of the strip. Upon the Client’s request, we can create any design for the top rail, bottom rail, carving, or custom decoration, based on the provided original or photograph.
TOP RAIL OF THE SASH
A fixed horizontal crossbar dividing the window into upper and lower sections. By default, the top rail is smooth and undecorated. Upon request, a decorative strip can be added, tailored to the height of the crossbar and the width of the opening. We can also create custom decorations according to the architect’s designs.
WOODEN GUIDES
We offer wooden guides for window blinds, tailored to fit every profile. In the case of historic windows, they effectively conceal aluminum strips, meeting the requirements of heritage conservators. The wooden guide is designed to avoid any decorative elements on the window and is adapted to fit all types of window sills.
TOP RAIL CAP
We offer top rail caps with traditional, carefully crafted profiles that emphasize the historic character of the window. Upon individual request, we can create any design for the top rail cap, bottom rail, carving, or custom decoration, precisely according to the provided original or photograph.
BOTTOM RAIL OF THE SASH
Every element of the bottom rail of the sash is carefully shaped to preserve the historic character of the window and provide stable support for the sash. Precise craftsmanship and attention to detail ensure that the bottom rail harmoniously integrates with the entire window, highlighting its traditional appearance and the elegance of the joinery.
FRAMED WINDOW
We produce both internal and external frames, perfectly tailored to the window dimensions and the thickness of the walls in the building. We also offer the option to create additional decorative elements, such as wooden window sills, drip caps, or other ornamental features.
VIEW SELECTED PROJECTS
We have completed numerous demanding projects involving the renovation and reconstruction of historic joinery in various European countries. We work on both small architectural elements and comprehensive restoration projects covering entire wooden joinery structures. Regardless of the scale or complexity, every project is carried out with the highest level of precision and attention to detail. We work closely with heritage conservation specialists, following all applicable standards, guidelines, and legal requirements to ensure full compliance with architectural heritage protection principles. As a result, our projects combine craftsmanship precision with respect for the historical character of each building.
