WOODEN WINDOW INSTALLATION TECHNIQUES

STANDARD INSTALLATION

Standard installation of windows is the most commonly used method of fitting window joinery into building openings. It involves mechanically fixing the window to the wall using special mounting screws, anchors, or mounting brackets. After the frame is stabilised in the opening, the space between the window frame and the wall is filled with polyurethane (installation) foam, which acts as a thermal and acoustic insulator.

WARM INSTALLATION

Warm window installation – layered installation is a window fitting technique that improves the thermal and acoustic insulation of the connection between the window and the wall. Unlike standard installation, in addition to screws and mounting foam, warm installation also uses specialist sealing tapes and foils. Thanks to this solution, we achieve better insulation parameters, reduce heat loss, and eliminate thermal bridges. In addition, water vapour does not penetrate the joint between the frame and the wall, preventing dampness and mould formation.

INSTALLATION IN THE INSULATION LAYER

Installation of windows in the insulation layer outside the wall structure is a modern solution used mainly for energy-efficient and passive windows. This installation method reduces heat loss by eliminating thermal bridges, resulting in higher energy efficiency of the building. In this technology, the window joinery is installed outside the load-bearing structure, directly within the thermal insulation layer. To ensure stability and safety, special load-bearing systems are used to transfer the weight of the window to the wall structure.
