Types of wood for window and door production
Our windows and doors are made from carefully selected wood species, each with slightly different characteristics. Thanks to laminated timber technology, they are highly resistant to deformation, provide excellent thermal insulation, and remain reliable for decades. Wood is not only beauty and style – it is also a healthy, natural material that “breathes” with the home, creating a friendly indoor microclimate. Unlike plastics, it does not emit harmful substances and is fully recyclable. If you are looking for solid, eco-friendly, and aesthetic solutions, choose wooden windows and doors that combine modern technology with timeless craftsmanship.
Oak
Larch
It is a coniferous wood species originating from Europe and Siberia. It is characterized by attractive, regular, smooth grain lines and good durability. It is classified as softwood with an average density of around 600 kg/m³, although it is relatively difficult to machine. Its thermal properties are good and comparable to pine wood. A key advantage of this wood is its very high resistance to moisture and deformation.
Spruce
Spruce is a softwood conifer that grows in European and Asian forests. It has a fairly light grain pattern and is characterized by good durability and strength. It is classified as softwood with a density of around 430 kg/m³. Spruce windows achieve the best thermal transmittance coefficient among all softwood types used in the production of windows and doors.
Meranti
A hardwood originating mainly from Indonesia. For window production, the most commonly used variety is Red Meranti (Meranti Red). It is a very durable material with a distinctive, tangible texture, which gives it originality and enhances the aesthetic appeal of the window. The average density of Meranti wood is around 450 kg/m³. This wood is characterized by very good thermal insulation properties.
Pine
A coniferous wood species growing in Poland. It is characterized by a light color and a smooth surface with a subtly visible grain pattern. Pine timber used for the production of windows and doors has an average density of around 510 kg/m³ and is classified as softwood. Pine windows have a lower thermal transmittance coefficient compared to windows made from hardwoods such as oak.

Glazing bars in wooden windows are decorative strips that divide the glass into smaller panes, giving windows a unique character. In modern wooden window production, different types of glazing bars are used, allowing for a variety of visual effects.
We distinguish several types of glazing bars:
• construction – solid, wide bars (50 to 80 mm) that divide the window sash into separate panes
• Viennese – delicate wooden bars, mainly 26 mm wide, applied on both sides of the glass using specially designed tapes; they can be made with or without a spacer frame inside the glazing unit
• removable – frame-like bars mounted on the exterior side of the window on small hinges; a very practical solution as they significantly improve cleaning comfort
• internal – aluminium bars with different widths (8, 18, 26 mm) placed inside the insulating glass unit, available in various colours
Depending on the selected window type, we offer the following standard glazing options:
• single-chamber insulating glass units used in Eco-Classic IV 68 windows with a 4float/16Ar/4thermo structure and a thermal transmittance coefficient of Ug = 1.1 W/m²K, or optionally Ug = 1.0 W/m²K
• energy-efficient double-chamber insulating glass units used in Eco-Energy IV 78 windows with a 4thermo/14Ar/4float/4float/14Ar/4thermo structure and a thermal transmittance coefficient of Ug = 0.6 W/m²K
• energy-efficient double-chamber insulating glass units used in Eco-Pasiv IV 92 windows with a 4thermo/18Ar/4float/18Ar/4thermo structure and a Ug value of 0.5 W/m²K
In float glass, energy and light easily pass into the interior, while heat is reduced from escaping to the outside. The space between the panes is filled with the noble gas argon, and optionally krypton, which further lowers the Ug value of the glass – and thus of the entire window.
We create unique decorations and ornaments that give wooden joinery an individual and distinctive character.
In our production, we use both precise machine-made detailing and traditional hand carving performed by experienced craftsmen.
Thanks to this, our joinery can reference historical originals or emphasize the style of modern designs.
Ornaments in wooden doors and windows are a detail that makes each piece unique and fully reflects the character of the building.
Window and door handles are a detail that can completely transform the appearance of joinery and give it character – from modern, elegant, and loft-style to classic and decorative designs.
Properly selected handles can highlight the style of a façade or interior, and even give it a completely new expression. Our offer includes a wide selection of Roto and Hoppe handle models. If you are looking for something unique, we can also order handles outside the standard collection.
Popular styles of handles for wooden windows and doors:
• modern – simple, minimalist design
• loft – raw, industrial finish
• classic – timeless form and detailing
• decorative – ornamental, expressive shapes
• custom – made to order
We equip our windows with perimeter fittings from ROTO – a global leader in this field.
As standard, we offer Roto NT fittings for turn, tilt, and tilt-and-turn windows, as well as tilt-and-slide systems. In this system, all components are integrated into the central locking mechanism. The standard NT fitting includes a basic level of anti-burglary protection, providing increased security. In the lower part of the sash, there is a locking roller that anchors into an anti-pry strike plate, making additional security features unnecessary.
ROTO NT fittings ensure comfortable operation of windows in a wide range of sizes and shapes, and thanks to a rich selection of accessories, they allow easy integration with electronic and mechanical systems such as alarms, thermostats, and ventilation devices.
As standard, windows are also equipped with a handle misalignment block, which prevents tilting the window when it is open. This feature is especially useful in households with children who may accidentally operate the handle incorrectly.
In wooden windows, two types of spacer frames are used: standard and warm-edge.
The aluminium spacer frame is a standard component that maintains the correct distance between panes, ensuring the stability of the glass unit.
The warm-edge spacer is a modern solution made of plastic and stainless steel, which reduces thermal bridges between the glass and the window frame. As a result, it improves thermal insulation and the overall energy efficiency of the window.
Advantages of the warm-edge spacer:
• reduced heat loss at the glass edges
• reduced condensation of water vapour
• higher thermal comfort indoors
The warm-edge spacer is especially recommended for high-insulation windows such as Eco-Energy IV 78 and Eco-Passiv IV 92.
In our wooden windows, we use high-quality Deventer seals, which ensure excellent airtightness, acoustic and thermal comfort, and long-lasting durability.
Properly selected seals guarantee protection against wind, moisture, and noise, while their flexibility allows for a precise fit to the window frame.
High-quality seals help our wooden windows maintain strong insulation performance and an aesthetic appearance for many years of use.
In our wooden windows, we use high-quality Gutmann SPREE 24OF drip caps, which effectively protect the window frame against excessive water absorption and moisture, extending the durability of the joinery.
Drip caps ensure optimal water drainage, dimensional stability of the wood, and the maintenance of high insulation performance.
Additionally, at the interface between the glass and wood, a special protective gutter can be installed together with the drip cap, covering the most sensitive part of the window. Thanks to this, our wooden windows maintain their attractive appearance, functionality, and durability throughout their entire service life.
