Why is it worth having wooden windows ?
Many people are afraid that their frames will require additional maintenance and that, even despite this, after a few years they will need a complete renovation. Most often, however, this results from a lack of awareness of how modern wooden windows are manufactured and protected.
For a long time now, they are no longer frames coated with ordinary oil-based paint, which starts to peel and crack after just a few years.
Excellent technical performance
Contrary to appearances, wooden windows are much more durable and warmer than those with PVC frames. They do not deform under the influence of temperature changes and also allow for even better thermal transmittance values, helping to reduce heating costs. As a result, over time they become more cost-effective than PVC joinery, which is slightly cheaper at the purchase stage.
An investment for years to come
The windows are characterised by stable performance parameters for even several decades. Thanks to modern technologies, they effectively resist external factors and do not require complicated maintenance. Simple, readily available care products are sufficient and very easy to use. At the same time, their frames do not become electrostatically charged and therefore attract significantly less dust than PVC frames. In addition, in the event of damage, a full replacement is not necessary — proper restoration is sufficient.
The wood used for window production is now already protected against fungi and mould at the procurement stage. Then, before glazing, the frames are coated with impregnation and a special lacquer finish. Additional protection against the harmful effects of moisture is also provided by extra sealing systems.
The beauty of a natural material
An undeniable advantage of wooden windows is their elegance and the uniqueness of natural wood grain, which no veneer can truly replicate. Moreover, today it is possible to achieve virtually any colour and shade of frames. Just like with PVC joinery, you can choose a different finish on the inside and a different one on the outside, matching it for example to the façade, roof tiles, or other architectural elements.
