Wooden windows – of course !

The market today is flooded with offers where frames are made of PVC. However, it is worth remembering that in many aspects wooden windows offer better performance, while PVC is simply a cheaper alternative. So why should you choose wooden windows?

Very good performance and properties

Frames made from a natural material always have a better thermal transmittance coefficient than those made from PVC. In addition, they not only provide excellent thermal insulation but also regulate indoor humidity levels much more effectively.

Aesthetics and ease of maintenance

PVC is not as flexible a material as wood. Windows made from natural material, unlike plastic ones, can be shaped into virtually any form, including various decorative details. Equally important, no wood-effect finish can match the natural grain of timber highlighted with a chosen glaze colour. Additionally, opaque RAL colours can be used, including a two-colour option, allowing the frame appearance to be matched both to the building façade and to the interior.

Another advantage of modern wooden windows is their ease of maintenance. Thanks to the use of appropriate impregnations and up to three layers of waterproof paint, standard cleaning agents and maintenance milk are sufficient. Moreover, cracks and scratches are less visible than on plastic frames and can always be easily repaired.

Safety

In the event of a fire, a plastic frame ignites more quickly and is more easily destroyed, while also releasing a range of harmful substances. In addition, it is significantly easier to drill a hole in a PVC frame, through which an intruder can access the handle mechanism.

Ecology

Most importantly, unlike plastic windows, wooden windows can be repaired and restored many times. In addition, being made from a natural raw material, they will naturally decompose over time or can be recycled without difficulty.
